Darkon Locations

LocationDescription
Brautslava InstituteThe Brautslava Institute hosts scholars of varied fields, from science and the arts to pseudoscience and fringe supernaturalism. The college of ethics is woefully underfunded.
xThe castle of Azalin Rex was known as a place of grim justice and mysterious magic. Now it stands locked in time, frozen in a moment of magical catastrophe.
Engel's EndMost of Engel's End's residents have fled the Shroud, but a golden light shines from the belfry of the hamlet's chapel. Since its lighting, the Mists haven't encroached closer.
Il AlukWith supplies dwindling, Darkon's capital of Il Aluk is in disorder. The elite cling to lies of prosperity as they starve and steal from the populace. Riots and assassinations occur daily.
KargThe small city of Karg is half-consumed by the Shroud. When residents began fleeing, the Kargat sealed the gates to prevent others from succumbing to "mass hysteria" and leaving.
xA city of fog and mysteries, Martira Bay is home to infamous serial killers and renowned detectives. Its busy port receives traders from other domains and even stranger lands.
NartokThe town of Nartok keeps a strict curfew, barring its gates at dusk to keep out the forest's undead. Many locals once served at Castle Avernus, which used to be visible in the distance.
NeblusBuilt amid the trees, Neblus's oldest structures are home to wealthy crime families. These criminals extort the locals and suppress their naturalistic traditions.
Nevuchar SpringsNevuchar Springs' hot springs have miraculous properties, but some bathers emerge with different personalities. The mystics of the Eternal Order research and protect the springs.
RivalisThe fishing town of Rivalis embraces its quaintness and avoids speaking of the monsters lurking in the nearby lakes. The untended estates of old, wealthy families lie outside town.
VradlockVradlock's dragonborn, drow, and goliath citizens claim descent from the spirits of Mount Nyid. Since the Shroud cut off the town, the mountain experiences frequent quakes.
Watchers' StrongholdWithin the vault-like Watcher's Stronghold, monastic members of the Order of the Guardians (see x) contain and protect cursed or dangerous magical oddities.
