      "The Pieglass is an indulgent, dessert-like drink that commemorates the first successful venture into the Undermountain by {@creature Durnan|WDH} the Wanderer and his friend {@creature Mirt|WDH} the Merciless. {@creature Durnan|WDH} and {@creature Mirt|WDH} were young men when they discovered the entrance to the labyrinths beneath Mount Waterdeep created by the mad mage {@creature Halaster Blackcloak|WDMM}. They returned from that expedition weighed down with riches, and Durnan's girlfriend, Mhaere, baked a pumpkin pie to celebrate. Mhaere also made {@creature Durnan|WDH} promise that he would stop chasing danger when they had money enough to start a family. In exchange, while his adventures continued, she swore she would always be there to welcome him home with her pie.",

        "In a small saucepan, cook the pumpkin puree over low heat for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened and slightly darker in color. Add the pumpkin pie spice, granulated sugar, water, and vanilla and stir to combine. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 2 minutes and remove from the heat. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a heatproof container and pour the syrup through to remove the solids, stirring with a rubber spatula if necessary to drain. Let the syrup cool completely before using. Store any remaining pumpkin pie syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week."

    "In a medium bowl, combine the heavy cream and confectioners' sugar. Using an electric hand mixer or whisk, beat the mixture until soft peaks form. Pour 12 ounces of cider into each of two pint glasses. Add ½ cup of ice cream to each glass, being careful not to overfill. Top each glass with a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie syrup. Serve at once."
