"When possible, a solid strategy for fighting a {@creature beholder} is to give it something else to focus on that's not you. Flattery is another time-honored tactic, since most beholders have a planet-sized ego. This pattern can come in handy for both techniques. It's oversized for an amigurumi, because no mere miniature form could capture a beholder's true might. Anatomically correct and majestic in scope, it makes for a gift that's sure to stroke a beholder's inflated ego. It is also sure to delight a loved one—if you're lucky enough not to have a nearby beholder in need of placating."
